Activity Wheel Monitor USB Interface, Model 86056A
The Activity Wheel Monitor USB Interface Model 86056A may be used with Activity Wheel Counters 86060 and 86061, as well as with Model 86070 Counter/Controller. It replaces both the 86056 Serial Starter Interface and the 86057 Serial Expansion Interface. It is no longer necessary to daisy chain expansion boxes to the starter interface. Each interface can connect directly to the computer.
Connect up to 15 wheel counters to a single interface and up to 8 interface units to a single computer with high-speed USB ports. Any powered USB hub may be used as needed. The maximum data collection capacity of the AWM Software is 120 wheels. The Model 86065 AWM Software package must be ordered separately. Upgrade pricing is available to existing users of older software.

ACTIVITY WHEEL MONITOR SOFTWARE Model 86065
AWM Version 7.7 is an example of a great product being made even better. This version was written to support the new USB wheel interface, model 86056A, any device (motor, brake, aux.) that can be controlled via the 86070 Counter/Controller, and all new forced exercise/walking beds with built in USB interface. At the same time it is still compatible with all serial port interfaces currently running on the 86056 & 86057 Interface System. Just a few of the new features and improvements are highlighted below. 86060 Activity Wheel Counter

The
Activity Wheel Counter Model 86060 is used to monitor
the revolutions of the Single Mouse Activity Wheel Model
80820, Single Rat Activity Wheel Model 80850, or the
Single Rat Activity Wheel Model 86043. The Activity
Wheel Counter Model 86060 uses an optical sensor to
detect the total revolutions of the wheel. For data
collection from the Activity Wheel Counter Model 86060
to a computer, the Animal Wheel Monitor Starter
Interface Model 86056 must be used. The Animal Wheel
Monitor Starter Interface Model 86056 will provide power
and a serial port computer connection. Up to (15)
Activity Wheel Counters Model 86060 may be connected to
the Animal Wheel Monitor Starter Interface Model 86056.
The Activity Wheel Counter
Model 86060 provides standalone operation with a 12V
power pack with battery backup and an LCD display.
When battery backup power is used, battery life is two
days.

Description:
The 86061 Activity Wheel Counter is used
to monitor the revolutions of the 80820 Single Mouse
Activity Wheel, 80850 Single Rat Activity Wheel, or the
86043 Single Rat Activity Wheel. The 86061 counter uses
optical sensors to detect the total revolutions of the
wheel. For collection of data from the 86061, the 86056
AWM Starter Interface must be used. The 86056 will

Activity Wheel Brake, Model 86070-B1
The Model 86070-B1 Lafayette Activity Wheel Brake is used as an on/off and variable resistance brake for the Lafayette activity wheels. The Activity Wheel Brake is controlled through the Activity Wheel Counter Model 86070, and is used in applications to impede an animal’s ability to run. When used in conjunction with the Lafayette Activity Wheel Software Model 86065 and Starter Interface Model 86056, the Activity Wheel Brake can be programmed to activate and deactivate upon the users’ request. |

Wheel Monitor Starter Interface |

This Activity Wheel Monitor Starter
Interface (model 86056) provides a computer connection
for up to 15 Dual Activity Wheel Chambers (80830) or
Activity Wheel Counters (86060 and 86061). The
counters connect through 6-pin modular cables to the
starter interface, which connects to the computer
through a serial communications port. The starter
interface may be expanded with an Activity Wheel
Monitor Expander Interface to support an
additional 15 counters per expander interface. Up to
seven expander interfaces can be connected to the
Starter Interface to accommodate a maximum of 120
counters or 120 Dual Activity Wheel Chamber Systems
(80830). This starter interface includes a software
program to download the information from the counters
at regular intervals over a specified period of time. |
